A music fanatic at heart and a science nerd in mind, Alex Gamble’s career has led him to develop a unique approach to mixing that’s both meticulous and musical. He started his career as a staffer at Union Sound Company, a studio he helped build from the ground up. In always finding a way to support recordings, whether it was running Pro Tools or aligning tape machines, he participated in numerous award-winning, and critically-acclaimed recordings throughout his career.
He partnered with Robbie Grunwald to open Raventape Music Room, an acoustically treated space that was meticulously designed by Signal Acoustics. There he could focus on engineering and mixing in the stereo format, and become an early-adopter and approved Dolby Atmos music mixer.
Alex’s story had led him through many technological, and philosophical shifts in this industry. Today, he’s positioned uniquely by having a cutting edge approach of where the music mixing world is headed, but a deep knowledge of what brought it here.
Most important about Alex’s approach, is that the music is always first. Deep listening is the key to a great mix, but this goes far beyond sound and frequencies. His experience in a variety of genres allows him to make meaningful sonic choices that suit the music, the message, and the art.
Having a solid workflow, and a trustworthy listening space frees up creative bandwidth to get your music's aesthetic just right. Most importantly, I believe the best mixes are a result of a meaningful collaboration. I’m here to listen to your music, and to your ideas.
