Alex Gamble is a Toronto-based Recording Engineer, Producer, and Mix Engineer whose recent credits include Canadian musical icons such as Fucked Up, Great Lake Swimmers, and Alvvays, as well as international artists such as Adam Giles Levy. In addition to music making, Alex is busy innovating the world of virtual instruments as a KSP Scripter and Sound Designer on titles from Native Instruments, Wave Alchemy, GetGood Drums, and The Loop Loft.
Originally hailing from Saint John, NB, Alex's formal introduction to the world of Sound Engineering came from a year spent at Vancouver's Nimbus School of Recording and Media. It was there where he met Toronto Producer Leon Taheny (Owen Pallet, Weaves). Leon would eventually recruit Alex to become part of the team that constructed what is now one of Toronto's top recording studios, Union Sound Company.
Alex went on to become Union Sound Company's staff Assistant Engineer, where he would play an essential role in award-winning and critically-acclaimed records such as "The Dream Is Over" by Pup, "Antisocialites" by Alvvays, "Bone on Bone" by Bruce Cockburn, and "Knocking At The Door" by Arkells.
Still a mainstay at Union Sound, Alex can also lately be found engineering sessions at world class studios such as Revolution Recording, Estudis Ground, and Palace Sound. His ability to harness the nuances of analog processing, coupled with his proficiency in the digital world provides a flexibility that can accommodate any recording. His reputation to emphasize musicality, and his passion for experimentation are quickly making Alex one of Toronto's go-to professionals in the Recording industry.
Alex also possess a deep background in virtual instrument development for Native Instruments' Kontakt platform. He has worked as a KSP Scripter, Sound Designer, Preset Designer, and Audio Editor for major releases such as Evolution by Wave Alchemy, and Modern and Massive by GetGood Drums, and many others.
